Ecclesiastes12:13-14|The End Of The Matter...🙏🌿🌼💞🕊

Third, it’s time to live

Verse 14: “For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.”

Now we’re back to where we started: the judgment of God. We hate the word judgment don’t we? But it’s in the judgment of God that we find meaning in absolutely everything.

The judgment of God is not something we can avoid—the Christian nor the non-Christian. You see it right there in verse 14: God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil. All of our life falls under the judgment of God.

What will that day be like for each person? Look again at verse 14. Every deed. Every secret thing, whether good or evil. Do you know what that word EVERY means here? EVERY . ALL. EACH ONE. The ENTIRETY. Nothing is hidden from God. He sees every secret thing, whether good or evil.

Jesus will on that day be perfectly just. The sins of the righteous and the unrighteous will be presented. The righteous won’t pay the penalty for them because he already did, but they will be revealed, highlighting the grace of Christ in your life even greater.

Do you see what this means for us? If every day will be judged on that day, then every day matters. Jesus is watching. He knows what our days are really made of. Nothing is hidden. So, that secret sin you’re protecting, why not hand it to Jesus now to find forgiveness and healing? He knows it anyway, so what are you really hiding? Why not confess it and be rid of it. And that secret good deed you wish others new about, why not forget the praise of men and move on to the next good deed? Jesus saw it, and he’ll commend you for it.

So here’s how we live: low before Jesus, totally open to him. We just fear and follow and live open to his grace and mercy. One day, to our utter amazement, we will see how meaningful our life really was. And we’ll see that it’s all because of grace.  It’s like the father who prepares all for his son’s steps, clearing the path for success, and then praising him for the work at the end. The son only walked; the father worked, but he’s praising nonetheless.

Life under the sun only is,“Vanity of vanities! All is vanity.” But life under the hand of God is not meaningless. Your life in Christ is more meaningful than you know. So let’s get to living it for him now because it matters today and will matter tomorrow and will matter for eternity.

Fear him and follow him, and he will show you on that day how eternally significant that moment was. That’s life under the hand of God.-DM

Ecclesiastes12:13-14|The End Of The Matter...🙏🌿🌼💞🕊

Second, it’s time to obey

Verse 13: “Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.”

Becoming decisive for Christ is to learn to fear and follow him. There is a proper order: first fearing, then following. God does not say to us. “Obey and I’ll save you.” He says, “Obey because I’ve saved you.” We obey because we see in God something so wonderful, we can’t imagine not following him.

Fearing God is more reverence and awe than terror and fright.  “When the Bible talks about the fear of God, it means an inner state, an inner condition of awe and amazement and wonder before the magnitude of the love and the power and the greatness of God. It’s an inner condition of awe and respect, of fear and trembling, of amazement before not only the power and the holiness but the love and the mercy of God…The fear of God means to have God look so huge, so glorious, so wonderful, to in a sense bow under the weight of the magnitude of his greatness, that it gets your mind blessedly off of yourself and finally you’re free.”

This world holds us in bondage to itself and it’s rules and regulations and limitations. But God frees us to live before him as we were made to.

Notice what verse 13 says, “This is the whole duty of man.” Fearing and following God is what we are made for. Following him is the life we really want. It infuses our life with meaning. We’re not just floating around doing what we feel like. We’re following and serving the living God! Yes, it might be uncomfortable at times. He’ll take us some scary places, but not one of them will be bigger than him. He will ask of us more than we want to give, but he’s the one who gives more than we could ever imagine. He will require of us more than we have right now, but he’s the one who provides everything we need anyway. And in the end, as we follow him imperfectly but truly, we find in him all that we look for everywhere else and then some. We find the fullest life possible. This is wisdom. This is the path to life. This is the path to joy.

God knows the right way to live, and he’s offering us his life right now, today! -DM

Ecclesiastes12:13-14|The End Of The Matter...🙏🌿🌼💞🕊

First, it’s time to decide

Verse 13: “The end of the matter; all has been heard.”

Throughout the book of Ecclesiastes, we’re confronted with the seeming meaninglessness of life.  In his second letter to Timothy, Paul described some people as “always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth” (2 Timothy 3:7). We don’t want to be like that.

Solomon summarized what this world offers in chapter 1: vanity—all is vanity. Everything under the sun is fading quickly away. It won’t last. So why keep reaching for it? We have an alternative: life under the hand of God. And here at the end of the book, it’s time to become decisive for him. God is asking, “What are you waiting for?

Look at God’s offer in the gospel. Just one example, John 3:16. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” When has the world ever offered that?

He was all in. He still is. And now he’s asking the same of you, for his glory alone. This world disappoints every day, but God won’t. He can’t. He’s God.

Here at the end of this book, God wants you to become decisive for him. You, like I, have sinned and rejected God in the past, but he wants you to receive his offer of complete forgiveness and eternal life because—this is amazing—he wants you in heaven with him forever. You! Little you! Messed-up sinner you! Stumbling-forward you! You!

All you have to do is receive that love with the empty hands of faith. He’ll do the work required in you. His grace will save you. He’s not asking for perfection—he has that for you in Christ. He’s only asking for openness. Can you give him that?

Why not have heaven, with Jesus forever, instead? “The end of the matter; all has been heard.” It’s time to decide. -DM

Ecclesiastes12:13-14|The End Of The Matter...🙏🌿🌼💞🕊

Your life is eternally significant.

This world under the sun won’t tell you that. Only God can. This world builds you up only to let you down. With your eyes focused only on things under the sun, you can’t but help think you don’t really matter in the end. But with your eyes focused on God, he shows just how meaningful you truly are, by his grace and for his glory. Every moment. Every emotion. Every joy. Every pain. Every trial and error. Every sin and sorrow. Every start and stop. Every act of obedience, great and small. It all has meaning. Because God is watching, you have eternal value.

As one commentator says, “The final message of Ecclesiastes is not that nothing matters in the end but that everything matters in the end.” And the proof is here in these two verses. One day, you will stand before God and give an account. He will bring every deed into judgment. It’s only right that he will. He created you. He cares about what happens in your life, and what you do with your life, and he has the right to judge the outcome of your life. One day, very soon, you will report in to him to receive his judgment. Because that day is coming, every day matters for that day.

How we live this day, as every day, will matter on that great and final day.  -DM

Sitting At The Feet Of Jesus...🙏🌿🌼💞🕊

1 Sitting at the feet of Jesus, Oh, what words I hear Him say! Happy place, so near, so precious! May it find me there each day; Sitting at the feet of Jesus, I would look upon the past; For His love has been so gracious, It has won my heart at last.

2 Sitting at the feet of Jesus, Where can mortal be more blest? There I lay my sins and sorrows, And, when weary, find sweet rest; Sitting at the feet of Jesus,There I love to weep and pray; While I from His fullness gather Grace and comfort every day.

3 Bless me, O my Savior, bless me, As I sit low at Thy feet;

Oh, look down in love upon me, Let me see Thy face so sweet; Give me, Lord, the mind of Jesus, Keep me holy as He is; May I prove I’ve been with Jesus, Who is all my righteousness  -Old Hymnal

Die To Self...🙏🌿🌼💞🕊

Agonizing without the surrender of self is useless—“There are many souls who wrestle for special victories and special blessings that they may do some great thing. To this end they are always feeling that they must make an agonizing struggle in prayer and tears.…All the agonizing, all the tears and struggles, will not bring them the blessing they long for. Self must be entirely surrendered” (Testimonies for the Church, vol. 9, p. 165).

And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. Matthew 26:39 KJV

Surrender...🙏🌿🌼💞🕊

When we let everything go, surrender everything and count ourselves as having nothing, then what? Then what will we have? “All things.” Then they cannot take anything away from us; the people who are in that condition, nothing can be taken from them. How is that so?  They cannot take power from us, can they? They cannot take the character from us. They can take earthly reputation, but not our character in Christ.   They cannot take our riches from us; and they cannot take our life from us; for Christ is our life, and they cannot take Him from us. So when we are in this position we have the victory over the world and all its power, to start with.

Therefore preach that gospel, that mystery of God; and what is that?—“Christ in you the hope of glory”; “Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God;” “The unsearchable riches of God.” “Christ and him crucified.” That is what it was; nothing but that.

Who Has Your Hope...🙏🌿🌼💞🕊

Where do you place your hope—your real hope. If you are honest, you will realize how much hope is placed in things other than God.

We want financial security. We are obsessed with people’s opinions of us....our reputation. Put bluntly, we have an idol problem.

Whoever has your hope, has your heart.   Wherever we trust for ultimate happiness and satisfaction is where we place our hope. And whatever we place our hope in, has true control of our heart.

Today’s verses are a prayer from David—and he’s expressing this same sentiment when he asks God to “unite” his heart to fear God’s name.

David, like so many of us, was a man who struggled with a divided heart. Even though he was a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14; Acts 13:22) his affections wandered.

That’s the crux, isn’t it?

Every Sabbath we sing songs that agree with verse 10: “For You are great and do wondrous things; You alone are God.” Then on Sunday our hope wanders from the One who is “God alone” and trusts in so many other things. So many idols.

Remember what God said about idols in Isaiah 44:20b? The people “have no knowledge who carry about their wooden idols, and keep on praying to a god that cannot save.”

And what are David’s words? “Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth…”

Idols lie—they simply can't deliver on their promises.

So, for anything that has your deepest hope, ask yourself these questions:

Will this satisfy my heart, or is it lying to me?

Can this save my soul, or will it leave me empty?

Can this heal my marriage, or will it destroy?

Would I be happy if my children and grandchildren embraced this?

So, who has your hope and your heart today? Pray with David for a united heart.

The Waiting Period...🙏🌿🌼💞🕊

Today's Word:

While you’re waiting for God to answer your prayers or see a promise fulfilled, there will be plenty of tests. When it’s taking a long time, it’s because what God has for you is going to be better than you thought, more rewarding, more fulfilling. Don’t despise the waiting period. God knows what’s best for us. Sometimes we’re waiting because another person who’s involved is not ready. Or we’re waiting because God is getting us prepared to handle the weight of blessing. It’s going to be a big blessing, but it’s going to require greater maturity, greater strength of character.

We all want everything fast, but God knows when the right time is. You have to trust God’s timing. If it hasn’t happened yet, it hasn’t been the right time. But when God is ready, all the forces of darkness cannot hold Him back. The key is patient believing when every circumstance says there’s no way. When you do that, God says you will receive all that He promised—not some of it, not most of it, but the fullness of the blessing.

Prayer For Today:

Father, thank You for another beautiful sunrise. Thank You for Your grace which is every breath I take. No matter what I face today with Your help, I know I will be able to survive, overcome and win. Thank You that Your power to strengthen me in times of difficulty is greater than the greatest force that can ever come against me. Thank You that I can patiently believe through the waiting periods. I believe that I am more than a conqueror and will overcome this. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Help In Daily Living...🙏🌿🌼💞🕊

So long as we are in the world, we shall meet with adverse influences. There will be provocations to test the temper; and it is by meeting these in a right spirit that the Christian graces are developed. If Christ dwells in us, we shall be patient, kind, and forbearing, cheerful amid frets and irritations. Day by day and year by year we shall conquer self, and grow into a noble heroism. This is our allotted task; but it cannot be accomplished without help from Jesus, resolute decision, unwavering purpose, continual watchfulness, and unceasing prayer. Each one has a personal battle to fight. Not even God can make our characters noble or our lives useful, unless we become co-workers with Him. Those who decline the struggle lose the strength and joy of victory. -Help In Daily Living pg 28

Defeating Our Goliaths...🙏🌿🌼💞🕊

Today’s Word:

David faced what appeared to be an insurmountable problem, but he was victorious through God’s power. We can be, too. David declared victory over Goliath before the battle even began (v. 46). His confidence was rooted in his past experiences with the Lord. What’s more, David believed triumph was certain because he came in the name of the Lord.

David had practical faith habits. A strong relationship with the Lord developed from spending time in His presence. This in turn enabled David to face problems with certainty that he was a beloved child of God, with full access to his Father’s storehouses of power, courage, and wisdom. If doubts ever arose, he could look back on God’s great faithfulness in past troubles.

To be victorious, we should practice David’s spiritual habits. Spend time with God and keep a record of His work in your life. Then you can be confident that He is sufficient, no matter the obstacle.

Today’s Prayer:

Father, thank You for this beautiful day with its endless opportunities and blessings. Grant us the strength to stand firm in Your name, knowing that the battles we face are ultimately Yours. May we trust in Your deliverance and proclaim Your glory through our victories. In Jesus' Name Amen.

What Limit?!...🙏🌿🌼💞🕊

Every morning in the desert, God provided the two million Israelites with manna, something like bread, but the people bitterly complained that they wanted meat. God was angered by their complaining, but He told Moses that He would give the people meat, not for a day, but for a whole month. Moses said that was completely impossible, but God answered, “Is there any limit to My power?”

The Scripture says, “God shifted the wind and caused hundreds of thousands of quail to come in from the sea. For miles in every direction there were quail flying about three feet above the ground.” They were awestruck by what God had done. God is about to shift the winds to blow in your direction. He’s going to cause the quail to come looking for you. You couldn’t have made it happen. You didn’t have the connections, the experience, or the background. But you’ve kept God first place. You’ve been faithful and honored Him. Now He’s going to cause a shift from borrowing to lending, from renting to owning, from not enough to more than enough.  Walk in Faith!

Prayer For Today:

Father, thank You for this beautiful and blessed day. I trust in Your limitless power and faithfulness. Just as You provided for the Israelites, I know You will provide for me. Shift the winds in my favor, Lord—move me from lack to abundance, from struggle to breakthrough. I choose to keep You first and trust in Your perfect timing. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

The Power Of "YET"...🙏🌿🌼💞🕊

Have you experienced times in your life where you can’t feel God’s presence? When the worst happens in our lives, while we do our best to cling to our faith, it’s easy to question God. Where is He when a loved one dies far too young? Where is God in divorce, disease and death? Where is He when war rages? These are age-old questions humans have struggled with for centuries, and questions we can easily ask today. It seems as if the world is on the brink of disaster, so we are left searching for God through all of it.

Habakkuk wrote his prophecy at a time when he and God’s people were asking the same questions. The Babylonians were preparing to invade Judah where the remnant of God’s people remained. This was a direct judgment from the Lord, for they had experienced rapid moral and spiritually decline. Habakkuk complains against God, not understanding how he could use a downright wicked nation in Babylon to judge a less wicked one in Judah. But, we know that God’s ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9).

The Lord answers Habakkuk and reminds him that He is a God of justice and mercy and that the righteous have to live by faith (2:4) and trust Him. Habakkuk’s ultimate summary is that no matter what comes, he will choose joy and trust God. Though the world seems to crumble,  *YET*  he will rejoice in the Lord.

What are you going through today? Does it seem like your world is falling apart? Know this: you don’t choose what you go through, but you can choose how you go through it. Choose joy, and know that God is good, just and merciful. No matter what you face, you can choose to say, *YET*, I will rejoice in the Lord…the God of my salvation.”

God Gets The Final Say...🙏🌿🌼💞🕊

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done...” Genesis 50:20

Satan may know your weak spots, but the good news is God can still use them for your good. In Genesis 50:20, Joseph said, “What you meant for my evil, God turned for good.” The enemy comes to deflate your life, but Jesus comes to fill it.

Abraham and Sarah had a promise from God. God said, “You shall have a child that shall become a nation that will produce a Messiah, and He will save the world.” And Satan immediately decided to try to deflate that promise by sending a distraction. After a long time of discouragement, Sarah’s faith became so deflated that she said, “We can’t make it happen as God said, so you go in and sleep with Hagar, my handmaid.”  Hagar, produced a child whom she named Ishmael.

It looked like the enemy had deflated the promise of God. But remember the Genesis 50:20 rule, “What the enemy meant for my evil, God will turn for my good.” Fast forward two generations and you will find the story of Abraham’s great-grandson, whose name is Joseph. He’s been thrown into a pit by his own jealous brothers, and they’re debating whether or not to kill him.

While they’re debating what to do, some people ride up, whom the Bible calls the Ishmaelites. Do you know where they came from? The Ishmaelites came from the biggest mistake Abraham ever made and the greatest weakness he ever had. The enemy thought he would use that weakness to deflate and shame Abraham’s family for the rest of their lives, but God got the final say.

The only thing that kept Joseph (the great, great, great, great ancestor of Jesus Christ) alive was the Ishmaelites, who were born two generations earlier through Grandpa Abraham's mistake.

The Ishmaelites bought Joseph and then took him to Egypt, where all the food was located. The world was starving to death in a famine, and Joseph somehow landed in a place of plenty. Then, God used him to feed the world.

A grandpa’s mistake became the grandson’s miracle. A grandpa’s curse became a grandson’s blessing. God will turn around the same weak spot Satan wants to destroy you with and use it to bring life.

Speak the 50:20 rule over your family today. Declare that what the enemy meant for your evil, God will turn it for your good!  God still has life, and life more abundantly.  And somehow, the 50:20 rule will kick in. God will not allow the enemy to win in a family that has been filled with His life.  Walk in Faith!
