It's Only A Roar...πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

TODAY’S WORD:

Like the roar of waves

crashing on the sand, you may have some negative thoughts roaring in your mind today, telling you, “You’ll never get well. You’ll never meet the right person. You’ll never be free of the addiction.” The Scripture says, “The enemy goes about as a roaring lion.” He loves to roar, to make loud threats and accusations, trying to get you to live in fear and worry, thinking that what you’re up against is too big, too strong. Don’t let the roar fool you. When God breathed life into you, like that sand, He put an eternal decree in you. He said when the enemy comes against you one way, He will defeat them and cause them to flee seven different ways.

When the enemy roars at you, start roaring back. The Scripture says, “Give no place to the enemy.” Don’t let him fill your mind with thoughts of defeat, lack, and insecurity. Roar back. Declare favor, declare strength, declare health, declare victory. When you declare God’s promises, as the waves have to recede from the sand, so must the enemy.

The enemy trembles when a believer speaks faith. When we declare what God has done, what Christ has accomplished, and what His Word promises, darkness loses its hold. Our testimony turns trials into victories and defeats the enemy.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father, thank You, Lord for blessing us with another beautiful morning, and waking us up to embrace this gift of life. We put everything in Your hands today; our families, our health, our homes, our jobs, and our fears. Thank You that Your words give life to my faith, and I can use my words to withstand the storms and waves that pound against me. Thank You that there is nothing more powerful than Your Word in my heart. I will say what You say about me and what You promise in Your Word. In Jesus' Name. Amen!

Jeremiah 29:11 __A Valley Promise...πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

You’ve seen it everywhere.

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'”Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Beautiful words. But there’s something deeper here that most people miss.

This wasn’t a mountaintop promise. It came in a valley – a deep, dark valley.

Picture this: God’s people were in exile. Torn from their homes. Families ripped apart. Living as captives in Babylon. Everything they knew – gone.

In their darkest moment, God speaks.

But He doesn’t say, “Don’t worry, I’ll fix this tomorrow.” Instead, He tells them to settle in. Plant gardens. Have families. Seek the welfare of their captors’ city.

Wait, what?

Yes. God’s promise wasn’t about immediate rescue. It was about ultimate redemption.

He was saying: “Even when everything looks hopeless, I haven’t forgotten you. Even when you can’t see the path forward, I have a plan. Even in exile, I am faithful.”

Sound familiar?

We’re exiles too! This world isn’t our home. Peter calls us “sojourners and exiles” (1 Peter 2:11). We’re just passing through.

But like Israel, we have a promise. A future. A hope.

And here’s the beautiful thing – God keeps His promises. Always! Even when we can’t see how.

The Israelites did return home. Their children did see God’s faithfulness. His Word never fails.

So next time life feels like exile – when dreams shatter, plans crumble, or hope dims – remember Jeremiah 29:11.

It’s not a prosperity promise. It’s a valley promise. And those are the ones you can count on in your life.

Where do you need to trust God’s promises today, even when you can’t see the way forward?

Surrender...πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

The ratification of the covenant at Sinai was to reinforce the special relationship that God wanted to have with His people. In the ceremony, the people twice shouted that they would obey God in everything that He required. “Everything the Lord has said we will do,” they proclaimed (Exod. 24:3, NIV). They meant it, too, but they did not know their brokenness, fragility, and lack of power. The blood of the covenant was sprinkled on the people, indicating that only by Christ’s merits was Israel able to follow God’s instructions.

We do not want to accept that our human nature is fragile, weak, and thoroughly sinful. We have an inherent tendency toward evil. To be able to do good, we must have help from outside ourselves. This help comes only from above, from the power of God’s grace, from His Word, and from the Holy Spirit. And even with all this at our disposal, evil still comes so easily to us, does it not?

“Everything the Lord has said we will do” (Exod. 24:3). How many times have you said the same thing, only to fail? What is the only solution?

Surrender our selfish will to God and put on the whole armor, is our only solution.  Jesus is The Way!

Judge Not...πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

When we condemn or criticise others, we declare ourselves guilty; in the very act of judging them, we are breaking God’s law. Our own character is revealed in the way we treat others. He who is censorious, self-sufficient, in judging others, shows that he himself is devoid of the grace of Christ. It is those that are blinded by the enemy to their own defects of character who are forward in criticising and condemning. Their own lack of the spirit of forbearance and love leads them to make a world of an atom. He who is watching for the defects of others, ready to accuse and condemn, is doing the same work in which Satan has been engaged since his rebellion. He links himself with him who is the accuser of the brethren.

Thus in accusing others we are passing sentence upon ourselves, and God declares that this sentence shall stand. Remember this, you who are so ready to criticise others. The sentence which you think to pass upon them you are passing upon yourselves, and thus it stands in the records of heaven. God accepts the sentence, your own verdict against yourselves. Are you willing to abide by it in the final day?

God declares that he has committed all judgment unto the Son. Not to finite men, who can judge only from the outward appearance, but to Him who reads the heart, who knows the secret springs of action, and who deals tenderly and compassionately,—to Him it is given to decide the case of every soul. And those who take upon themselves the work of passing judgment or pronouncing upon the motives of another, are assuming the prerogatives of the Son of God. Are they not thus also linking themselves with Satan, the usurper?

Jesus did not come to the world as a judge, but as the Friend and Saviour of sinners. “God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”— Signs of the Times March 21, 1892

When We Understand God’s Goodness...πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

What was the cause for Moses’ transformation that resulted in his face becoming radiant? The reason was not in the simple fact that he was in God’s presence, because several times previously he had been with the Lord and his face did not become radiant after those encounters. However, if he had never been in the Lord’s presence, his face would never have shone. It was only when he understood God’s goodness and kindness, and he completely opened himself to God because of the beauty of His character, that Moses was transformed, and his face shone. Our hearts and minds can experience a change when we surrender to God and allow Him to be the Lord and King of our lives.

How The New Heart Is Kept...πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

One of the most earnest prayers recorded in the Word of God is that of David when he plead, “Create in me a clean heart, O God.” God’s response to such a prayer is, A new heart will I give you. This is a work that no finite man can do. Men and women are to begin at the beginning, seeking God most earnestly for a true Christian experience. They are to feel the creative power of the Holy Spirit. They are to receive the new heart, that is kept soft and tender by the grace of heaven. The selfish spirit is to be cleansed from the soul. They are to labor earnestly and with humility of heart, each one looking to Jesus for guidance and encouragement. Then the building, fitly framed together, will grow into a holy temple in the Lord (Letter 224, 1907).

A New Heart...πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

Satan leads people to think that because they have felt a rapture of feeling, they are converted. But their experience does not change. Their actions are the same as before. Their lives show no good fruit. They pray often and long, and are constantly referring to the feelings they had at such and such a time. But they do not live the new life. They are deceived. Their experience goes no deeper than feeling. They build upon the sand, and when adverse winds come, their house is swept away....

When Jesus speaks of the new heart, He means the mind, the life, the whole being. To have a change of heart is to withdraw the affections from the world, and fasten them upon Christ. To have a new heart is to have a new mind, new purposes, new motives. What is the sign of a new heart?—a changed life. There is a daily, hourly dying to selfishness and pride (The Youth’s Instructor, September 26, 1901).

Let This Mind Be In You...πŸ™πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

All who consecrate soul, body, and spirit to God will be constantly receiving a new endowment of physical and mental power. The inexhaustible supplies of heaven are at their command. Christ gives them the breath of His own spirit, the life of His own life. The Holy Spirit puts forth its highest energies to work in heart and mind…. Through co-operation with Christ they are complete in Him, and in their human weakness they are enabled to do the deeds of Omnipotence.” Desire of Ages, p. 827

Faith For Every Season...πŸ™πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

Today’s Word:

Life has seasons—some heavy and painful, others quiet and full of waiting. True wisdom isn’t just knowing God can act; it’s discerning the season you’re in and trusting Him through it.

David knew this well. When his child was sick, he prayed and fasted with all his heart. But when his child died, he got up, washed, and worshiped God. He didn’t keep pleading for what was already decided. He trusted God’s plan and moved forward (2 Samuel 12:20). That kind of faith is hard—it knows when to pray, when to grieve, and when to rise even when answers aren’t clear.

Right now, some of us are praying desperately. Some feel worn out from waiting. Others are trying to trust again after being hurt. Whatever season you’re in, God sees you. Hold on to Him. Let His Word be your guide.

Today’s Prayer:

Father, thank You for this beautiful and blessed day. Father, You know the season of every heart. We live in a time that calls for clear eyes and awake hearts. Help us be rooted in Your Word, honest in prayer, and purposeful in living. Teach us when to pray, when to trust, and when to move forward with hope. Give us the strength to trust Your will, even when it hurts. Let our hope reach beyond today, and may our love shine while there’s still time. Help us live awake, faithful, and ready. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Perfection Of Character...πŸ™πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

“We cannot afford to let our spirits chafe over any real or supposed wrong done to ourselves. Self is the enemy we most need to fear. No form of vice has a more baleful effect upon the character than has human passion not under the control of the Holy Spirit. No other victory we can gain will be so precious as the victory gained over self. We should not allow our feelings to be easily wounded. We are to live, not to guard our feelings or our reputation, but to save souls. As we become interested in the salvation of souls, we cease to mind the little differences that so often arise in our association with one another. Whatever others may think of us, it need not disturb our oneness with Christ, the fellowship of the Spirit. “What glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.” [1 Peter 2:20.] – {Gospel Workers, p. 475.2}

Perfection Of Character...πŸ™πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:48.

God will accept only those who are determined to aim high. He places every human agent under obligation to do his best. Moral perfection is required of all. Never should we lower the standard of righteousness in order to accommodate inherited and cultivated tendencies to wrongdoing. We need to understand that imperfection of character is sin. All righteous attributes of character dwell in God as a perfect, harmonious whole, and every one who receives Christ as a personal Saviour is privileged to possess these attributes.

And those who would be workers together with God must strive for perfection of every organ of the body and quality of the mind. True education is the preparation of the physical, mental, and moral powers for the performance of every duty; it is the training of body, mind, and soul for divine service. This is the education that will endure unto eternal life....

But Christ has given us no assurance that to attain perfection of character is an easy matter. A noble, all-around character is not inherited. It does not come to us by accident. A noble character is earned by individual effort through the merits and grace of Christ. God gives the talents, the powers of the mind; we form the character. It is formed by hard, stern battles with self. Conflict after conflict must be waged against hereditary tendencies. We shall have to criticize ourselves closely, and allow not one unfavorable trait to remain uncorrected.

Let no one say, I cannot remedy my defects of character.... The real difficulty arises from the corruption of an unsanctified heart and an unwillingness to submit to the control of God -Christ’s Object Lessons, 330, 331.

Subjection to the will of Christ means restoration to perfect manhood-The Ministry of Healing, 131.

Number Your Days...πŸ™πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

Today’s Word:

We arrive at this day every 365.25 days—the number of days it takes the earth to revolve around the sun. We call that period a year, and we call January 1 New Year’s Day. January 1 is a marker, telling us that time is moving on. Perhaps the most sobering reminder it brings is that our days are decreasing in number.

When things become scarce, we tend to treat them more valuably. The fewer dollars we have, the more careful our spending. The same applies to time. If we approach the end of our life with limited years left, we should be careful about how we live. For the Christian, that means asking a primary question: How am I doing with God? The Christian life is based on the idea of growth. Just as a healthy plant grows taller and more fruitful over time, so should our spiritual life. January 1 is a great opportunity to assess how we are growing in God.

Give thought and prayer today to where you are and where you could be spiritually at the end of this new year.

The year is made up of minutes: Let these be watched as having been dedicated to God.

Prayer for Today:

Father, thank You that You  make all things new.  Thank You for all that You've allowed into my life this past year. It reminded me of how much I need You daily. I pray that Your Spirit will lead me each step of this New Year. I ask that You will guide my decisions and turn my heart to deeply desire You above all else. Help me to pursue You first in everything. Thank You for calling me to follow You and Your direction in my life. In Jesus' precious Name, Amen.
