Chiari Fact of the Day:
Will my Chiari symptoms get worse during a pregnancy?
•The surprising news is that most women in the few surveys done often do quite well particular into the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, even with reduction in medications taken.
•The rule of thumb still holds that the more the tonsillar descent, the more likely symptoms are to be more prominent.
(Information from Dr. Roger Kula's ASAP Conference presentation)
I had two miscarriages: one at 4 months and the other at 5 months. Tests of the babies showed they were actually healthy. The second miscarriage was in January 2008 and i found out that I had Chaiari August 2008 and surgery that September....2008 was a bad year! I think Chiari does affect pregnancy...obviously lots more research is needed.
