Let God Work in You...πŸ™πŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

God cannot work for you without your cooperation. Your heart must be in a condition to receive an appropriate gift before it can be bestowed. And when it is in that condition, you will feel an earnest longing that will naturally take the form of prayer. And when this longing is felt, when your soul feels an intense desire for the help that God alone can give, when the language of your soul is, “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after Thee, O God,” the effect is to open the channel between God and your soul. Then the flood of blessings can descend which God was already waiting to pour out. And it is the intensity of your desire that determines how wide the door will be opened.

Open the door wide!  Happy New Year!

What Can The Word Of God Do?....πŸ™πŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

What can the word of the Lord do? Read Ps. 33:6, 9: “By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.” “For He spake, and it was; He commanded, and it stood fast.” “And this is the word which by the Gospel is preached unto you.” 1 Peter 1:25. The Gospel is the power of God for salvation, to everyone that believeth; and the power of God is seen in creation. Rom. 1:16, 19, 20. Therefore the power by which the commands and exhortations of the Holy Spirit are to be fulfilled in you is the power by which the heavens and the earth were made.

You are to become so familiar with the fact that God is Creator, that when He says, “Let this be done,” you will at once and continually respond, “Amen, even so, let it be done, Lord Jesus;” and thus the new heart will be created, from which will proceed thoughts and words acceptable in His sight.

God Is Love...πŸ™πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’ž

Love is the underlying principle of God’s government in heaven and earth, and it must be the foundation of the Christian’s character. This alone can make and keep him steadfast. This alone can enable him to withstand trial and temptation.”—Ellen G. White, Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 49.

God’s Mission For You Today...πŸ™πŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

Do you know God has a mission for you today? He has one for me, too.

We are his workmanship—which means he saves us only through his power. This also means we are being changed to become more like Jesus through his power, as well (Rom 8:29).

So, what kind of people do you think God is molding?

He is making Kingdom builders. He is making us into people who bring glory to his name. He is making us into gospel missionaries everywhere we go. And also people who long for his presence.

You and I have God-ordained works waiting for us to walk in today.

Notice the balance between two words: work and walk.

We’re not being called to work, or perform, this mission out of our own power… We’re called to walk in them.

Ephesians 2: 10 tells us that God works in us that he might work through us.

Through these words of Paul, God is making a promise to us. That if we watch, listen to Holy Spirit, and follow his leading, God will accomplish his mission through us.

Do you desire to be used by God to build his Kingdom? Then today is your day—just like everyday is. There are works prepared for you to walk in.

Will you watch and be obedient to walk in them, today?  -SD

Faith...πŸ™πŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

The flesh works whenever faith is absent. “Whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” Rom. 14:23.

The great mistake which you make is in thinking that your flesh can do the works of God. Your natural mind is so ignorant of what those works are—your ways and thoughts are so far below the ways and thoughts of God—that you naturally have no conception of what righteousness is. Consequently you go about, like the Jews of old, to establish your own righteousness; and in so doing you miss the righteousness of God. You may get something that looks like righteousness to you, but if you depend on that, in the Judgment day you will find yourself terribly mistaken.

The promise is never fulfilled, the work never accomplished, until it comes through faith.

Freedom...πŸ™πŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

Your prison doors are already open, and you only have to believe it, and to walk out, continually believing it. Christ is today proclaiming liberty to you, for He has broken the snare, and loosed your bonds. Ps. 116:16. He tells you that He has opened your prison door, so that you may walk at liberty, if you will only walk by faith in Him. It is faith that opens the door to you when you are shut up in sin. Believe His word, declare yourself free in His name, and then by humble faith stand fast in the liberty by which Christ has made you free. Then you will know the blessedness of the assurance: “They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.” Isa. 40:31

Not I, But Christ...πŸ™πŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

It is by the obedience of One that many are made righteous. What a wonder! Only ONE—Christ—obeys, but MANY are made righteous. The apostle Paul said: “I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.” Gal. 2:20. So then, if anyone asks you, “Are you without sin?” you can only reply, “Not I, but Christ.” “Do you keep the commandments?” “Not I, but Christ.” Imperfect and sinful in yourself, and yet “complete in Him.” -Living By Faith

Sweet Blessings...πŸ™πŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

Finding wild honey takes patience and perseverance, but the rewards are sweet. So it is with the person searching for wisdom. The Scriptures teach that the law of the Lord is “sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb” (Psalm 19:10). When we are persistent in looking for Jesus, the source of all truth, we will have a future full of hope and sweet blessings.

Living by Faith...πŸ™πŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

Many people earnestly long for Christ to come and dwell in their hearts, and they imagine that the reason He does not do so is because they are not good

enough, and they vainly set about trying to get so good that He can condescend to come in. They forget that Christ comes into your heart, not because it is free from sin, but in order to free it from sin; and possibly they never realized that Christ is in the Word, and that if you will make it a constant companion, and will yield yourself to its influence, you will have Christ dwelling within. When you have hidden the Word in your heart, you meditate on it day and night, and you believe it with the simple faith of a child—then you have Christ dwelling in your heart by faith, and you will experience His mighty, creative power -Living by Faith

Isaiah Beholding God & Receives Assurance of Forgiveness...πŸ™πŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

When God called Isaiah the prophet in the temple, the revelation of the Lord’s glory humbled the priest and he immediately saw his own unworthiness. He recognized the stain of sin in his life, a mark so deep that it seemed impossible to remove. But the Lord did the impossible, and Isaiah was told, “Your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged” (Isaiah 6:7).

One of the main barriers to conversion and coming to God is the belief that a person has committed sins so bad that the Lord could never forgive such iniquities. When Isaiah saw God’s glory, the revelation was like that of Moses— he saw the merciful character of the Lord, traits that showed God’s willingness to forgive and remove sin.

The Lord said through Isaiah, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (v. 18). When you humbly confess your sins, you may know that God—the true Stain Remover—can wash you clean!

Isaiah Beholding God and Himself...πŸ•ŠπŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

Isaiah Beholding God & Himself:
Isaiah was born during a time when the nation of Israel was in apostasy and rebellion against God.
While serving as a priest in the temple, he writes: “I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple” (Isaiah 6:1). He saw angels who cried, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory” (v. 3).
It was as if the holy of holies had been thrown open before the humble priest and the glories of heaven were displayed before him. The glorious scene caused the whole temple to tremble.
Isaiah was so moved by the revelation that he exclaimed, “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts” (v. 5). His admission revealed a knowledge of both the state of affairs in Israel and an understanding of his own heart.
All who, like Isaiah, respond to a true revelation of God by recognizing their own sinful condition, will experience a conversion of heart and a cleansing from sin.-AF

Through the Eyes of Faith...πŸ•ŠπŸŒΌπŸŒΏ

Through The Eyes of Faith:
When we look at the thief who died on the cross next to Jesus, we find all the steps in salvation. He saw Jesus hanging on the cross. He probably heard Jesus say, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” (Luke 23:34–42
The thief watched all these acts and deeds of kindness with no hostility or aggression, and seeing God’s goodness helped him become aware of his own badness. You see, the Bible tells us it’s the goodness of God that leads us to repentance. “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You,” Job said. “Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes” (Job 42:5, 6
I’m talking about the eye of faith that sees God in His Word. -AF

Children of Light...πŸ•ŠπŸŒΌπŸŒΏ

We need regular exposure to strong light for our physical and emotional well-being.
The same is true in our spiritual lives. Without a regular supply of strong spiritual light, we can easily become discouraged and lose our way. The Word of God provides this light. “Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).
In John 8:12, Jesus says, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” Because of Him we can “walk as children of light … finding out what is acceptable to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:8, 10). We don’t need to stumble around in the dark. Jesus promises to light our way.

Having a Generous, Giving Heart...πŸ•ŠπŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

Jesus responded, “Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness” (Luke 11:39).
Appearance was everything to the Pharisees. As long as they “looked good” they were pleased with themselves. But Jesus pointed out that what is inside a person is the most important thing. The Pharisees, who made such a show of washing in a particular way, had neglected to clean their hearts. Jesus saw right through them, as He always does. He saw the greed and sin, and He knew what they really needed: generous, giving hearts. -AF

Bridges Of Life...πŸ•ŠπŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

Bridges of Life
Like the Philippian jailer, we all need to ask what we must do to be saved? The answer is in Jesus. There is a separation that sin creates between us and God. By acknowledging our sinfulness and coming to Christ, the Lord provides a bridge back to Himself. We must have faith and believe in what God can do for us. -AF

THE PHILIPPIAN JAILER: HOW THE PRISONERS FREED THEIR CAPTOR...πŸ•ŠπŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

THE PHILIPPIAN JAILER: HOW THE PRISONERS FREED THEIR CAPTOR
God had plans for Paul, Silas, and their jailer. As the two Christians sang hymns and praised God, an earthquake shook the jail with such force that every prisoner’s bonds were loosed, every jail cell opened. Catastrophic would be too mild a word to describe the jailer’s outlook. He was supposed to keep everyone in place, and now they were gone—or so he thought.
In the jailer’s darkest hour, Paul’s voice brought light: “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here” (Acts 16 v. 28). God’s power kept the prisoners in their place. Then came the jailer’s plaintive question: “What must I do to be saved?”
The answer was simple, yet complete: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16: v. 31).
That promise is just as true today: Believe and you will be saved! -Amazing Facts

There’s nothing quite as gripping as a good rescue story, and Paul, in Ephesians 2:1-10, gives us an up-close-and-personal view of the grandest, most sweeping rescue mission of all time—God’s efforts to redeem humanity. The Enduring Nature of God...πŸ•ŠπŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

The enduring nature of God should be a great comfort to His people—especially in times when everything else seems uncertain. The prophet of Lamentations, in the middle of his anguish over the destruction of the city of Jerusalem and the captivity of his people, sees the inevitability of morning as a reminder of God’s compassion: “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. … It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the Lord” (Lamentations 3:22, 23, 26). Even when everything is coming apart at the seams, the sun will still rise and our God will still be Faithful.

Faith Is The Victory...πŸ•ŠπŸŒΌπŸŒΏ

Faith is the Victory:
Even Christians who have accepted the claims of the moral law are not too concerned about how well they fulfill it. In a subtle way they have been affected by the prevalent belief that too much concern about obedience is a form of salvation by works. Incredibly, some seem to be so fearful of keeping the law too closely that they actually make provision to break it. By doing so they perversely comfort themselves for not being legalistic.
Jesus has already defeated the devil, and no Christian should be intimidated by an inferior, defeated foe. We have no business justifying the transgression of the Ten Commandments.
Without faith by the receiver not even God’s promises can be appropriated. The limits are clearly defined in the words of Jesus, “According to your faith be it unto you” (Matthew 9:29).

The Touchstone...πŸ•ŠπŸŒΌπŸŒΏ

A touchstone is a tablet of dark stone, finely grained, that is used for determining the quality of soft metals.
Scripture is our touchstone.
God has authored and inspired it through the pens of faithful men to reveal Himself to us.
He has shown us His holiness, His perfection, His grace, His justice, all of these facets of Himself and His character.
We must, like a piece of gold being tested, draw ourselves across the stone of the Bible. Instead of comparing ourselves with each other, we should look to God’s word as the measure of our lives.
Don’t give your joy away to comparison against the lives of imperfect human beings, but instead compare yourself with Christ for a true measure of spiritual fruit.
Open your Bible today and let the word of God encourage, challenge, and restore you!

Jesus gives us living water. The Bible is like a river of life, and everything lives whenever His Word is preached. If you have the spirit in your life, your mind, heart becomes like a river of life. God wants that river to flow through us to reach others.
For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

The Faith of Jesus!πŸ•ŠπŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

The faith of Jesus is a faith so deep, so trusting, so committed, that all the demons in the cosmos and all the trials on earth cannot shake it. It is a faith that trusts when it cannot see, believes when it cannot understand, hangs on when there is little to hang on to. This “faith of Jesus” is itself a gift we receive by faith and it will carry us through the crisis ahead. It is “the faith of Jesus” dwelling in our hearts that enables us to worship Christ as supreme and steadfastly endure when Revelation’s mark of the beast is enforced.
Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 14:12

How To Be Changed Like Paul...πŸ•ŠπŸŒΌπŸŒΏ

How To Be Changed Like Paul:
Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, (Romans 1:1 ESV)
Paul isn’t simply saying that he was ear marked for ministry—he was irrevocably transported to a new reality.
His new horizon as an apostle was vastly different than his old one as the disciple-persecuting Saul. And when your horizon is different, your entire future is changed.
Paul was expressing the irrevocable transformation the gospel worked in him. It wasn’t simply that some of his habits and ways of thinking changed at his conversion. It was that his entire horizon changed. God transported him from one place to another—from a dead life to a living one.
Paul didn’t simply change directions, he changed locations. And this is what it means to encounter the gospel of Jesus Christ and be made new.
What is the new horizon God has given you? -SD Devotional

How To Be Changed Like Paul πŸ•ŠπŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

How To Be Changed Like Paul:
Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, (Romans 1:1 ESV)
The secret of Paul’s greatness is that he was first a “servant” and second an “apostle.”
To understand and emulate Paul, we need to focus on his relationship with Jesus before we look at his feats of faith.
We should be astounded that Paul submitted to the authority of a man killed as a Jewish blasphemer and heretic—Jesus of Nazareth.
That is the power of the gospel to change people—to change us. There is no power greater and no heart too far. What an encouragement—and challenge to our limited beliefs—the life of Paul is. The gospel can change any heart, any time, anywhere.
The heart of Paul’s ministry is his intimacy and obedience to Jesus. He was a man under orders, not in control of his own life and destiny.
He looked to Jesus. He listened to Jesus. He obeyed Jesus.
He was a servant before he was an apostle. A man who gave up control of his life; who modeled what it means to submit to Jesus as Lord.
Are you a servant of Jesus? And more importantly, do you live like it? -SD Devotional

How To Be Changed Like Paul!πŸ•ŠπŸŒΌπŸŒΏ

How To Be Changed Like Paul:
Jesus worked in Paul before he ever worked through him.
Paul met the Christ he persecuted on the road to Damascus—and in a blinding flash—his life changed forever (Acts 9). And we simply cannot overstate the importance of this moment.
One moment, he was “breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord,” (Acts 9:1), and three days later he received a vision from Jesus that a man named Ananias would restore his sight (Acts 9:12).
Saul was transformed from persecutor to prophet. But he first had to encounter the gospel power of Jesus.
Today, my prayer isn’t first: “Lord use me like Paul!” It’s, “Lord change me like Saul!”
As the saying goes: Changed people change people.
Do you long for Christ’s power in you—or just through you?

The Faithful Minority...πŸ•ŠπŸŒΌπŸŒΏ

Only a small proportion of earth's inhabitants will escape from the overwhelming deceptions of the last days and be saved. A little remnant, as always, will be more concerned about doing right than pleasing self, the crowd, or some other individual. The record of history consistently chronicles the story of that small company of dissenters who dared to reject the comfortable appeal of the crowd. The majority seem never to be searching for truth so much as for a smooth, easy, convenient religion which will allow them to live as they please. To them any doctrine which demands self denial or a disciplined lifestyle is bad news
"When the son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8). In the same discourse He declared, "As it was in the days of Noe, so it will be also in the days of the Son of man” (Luke 17:26).

Powerful Magnets of Temptation πŸ•ŠπŸŒΌπŸŒΏ

Powerful magnets of temptation are all around us trying to disturb our spiritual balance and turn us upside down. Those who trust in feeling and majority opinion are easily up-ended by the strong attraction of outside forces. Consoled by the presence of so many others about them doing the same thing, they soon begin to see everything in relation to their distorted view. They reverse all the signs in order to read them better, and develop a firm conviction that they are balanced and correct, while everyone differing from them is wrong. Eventually they see wrong as right and right as wrong. Anyone who goes contrary to his or her perceptions is instantly branded as a fanatic or a critical troublemaker.
This points up one great truth: We cannot measure right and wrong by our feeling or by what the majority are doing! We need something from outside ourselves to tell us where the truth lies. Our impulses may be just as real as the pull of the magnet, but they could also be just as misleading. Our numerous friends may be most respectable and religious but their status stone could be linked to the same false guidance system, cleverly sabotaged by the enemy.  -Amazing Facts

Look Forward...πŸ•ŠπŸŒΌπŸŒΏ

Look Forward:  The Babylonians destroyed the first temple that Solomon built (1 Kings 8).
It was breathtaking. It represented the height of Israel’s power. The older priests and leaders knew the new temple would never touch that level of grandeur.
Rather than celebrate that God was reuniting his people, restoring worship, and repairing their connection with him, they lamented. They couldn’t see the gain because they only focused on what used to be.
God was doing a new thing, but they couldn’t let go of the old. They missed a chance at joy, at trusting God, at looking forward.
We cling to nostalgia and wrap ourselves in comfortable memories. We dream about the glory days and "run down" (or even outright prevent) the new things God’s doing now.
Don’t cling to the old when God is doing something new! - Daily Devotions

The Promises of God πŸ•ŠπŸŒΌπŸŒΏ

Unlike the disbelieving spies, Joshua and Caleb did believe. They said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30 NKJV). Hunger and Thirst for God’s Word...πŸ•ŠπŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

One day a crowd of people went looking for Jesus. The Lord had performed a miracle feeding a multitude with bread, and they wanted more. We, too, go searching for material blessings from God and miss the spiritual blessings He also intended. Jesus sought to correct their understanding of what He meant by “bread from heaven.” The crowd said, “Lord, give us this bread always.” Jesus said, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst” (John 6:34, 35).
If you would know Christ, spiritual bread should be a basic staple of your daily diet. Take time every day to eat from the Word of God and you will never go hungry...Amazing Facts

Loving My Brother...πŸ•ŠπŸŒΏπŸŒΌ

If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.

The Christian Life of Fellowship IIIπŸ•ŠπŸŒΌπŸŒΏ

God has given the members of His body spiritual gifts “for the common good” (1 Corinthians 12:1–11). These gifts are to be used for the edification of the church “to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12–13). We can only reach our full potential as believers when we allow God to mature us through fellowship within His body, with Christ as the head (Ephesians 4:14–15).
Paul compared the church to the human body, explaining, “The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I don’t need you!’ And the head cannot say to the feet, ‘I don’t need you!’” (1 Corinthians 12:21). Every member of the body of Christ—God’s family—is essential and valuable. Through Christ, God puts believers together “like living stones” to be “built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood” with Jesus as the foundation stone (1 Peter 2:5–6).
Only through authentic relationships with other believers can we live out the faith we profess and become all that God has destined us to be—when we do not give up meeting together.

The Christian Life of Fellowship IIπŸ•ŠπŸŒΌπŸŒΏ

Christians ought not to give up meeting together because we form one family—God’s family, or the “household of faith” (Ephesians 2:19; 1 Timothy 3:15; Galatians 6:10). As members of God’s household, believers are to show love for one another, hospitality, tenderness, compassion, and humility (Hebrews 13:1–2: Philippians 2:1–3).
To the believers in Philippi, Paul stated, “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4, ESV). God calls Christians to look out for their brothers and sisters in Christ. It is not just for our own good, but for the strengthening and building up of the whole body of Christ that Scripture tells us, “Do not give up meeting together.”

The Christian Life of FellowshipπŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ•Š....

The Christian life is not meant to be lived in isolation but in fellowship with other believers. For this reason, Hebrews 10:24–25 tells us to “consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” If we hope to grow spiritually and endure for the long haul, we need our brothers and sisters in Christ for encouragement.
Regular, real-life, day-to-day fellowship with other Believers is an essential component of Christian growth and perseverance. If we, like the writer of Hebrews, live with the expectation that the day of Christ’s return is soon, we’ll grasp the importance of spurring one another on in our walk of faith. But if we give up meeting together, how can we expect to give support and receive encouragement?

Seek the Lord...

Seek the Lord While He is Near!
When we think about seeking the Lord, we often think about the moments we feel emotionally closest to Him, like worship, in prayer, or while reading His Word. But Isaiah’s message is a call to seek God even when we don’t “feel” His presence. Even when our circumstances seem bleak.
Just as the Israelites were encouraged to seek the Lord amidst the chaos of a crumbling empire, we too are called to seek Him in the midst of our own struggles and uncertainties. With banks failing, economic uncertainty, and wars, we certainly face trying times.
Seeking the Lord means more than just calling out His name. It is an intentional pursuit of His presence. A burning desire to know Him — not just about Him. And a willingness to submit to His will.
Calling upon God also requires that we prepare our hearts. Because often, His guidance and direction contradict our own desires or expectations. But, it’s always better, higher, and more glorious!
