Separating From Sin...πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

The requirements of God are set plainly before us, and the ques- tion to be settled is, Will we comply with them? Will we accept the conditions laid down in His Word—separation from the world? This is not the work of a moment or of a day. It is not accomplished by bowing at the family altar, and offering up lip service, neither by public exhortation and prayer. It is a lifelong work. Our consecration to God must be a living principle, interwoven with the life, and leading to self-denial and self-sacrifice. It must underlie all our thoughts and be the spring of every action. This will elevate us above the world, and separate us from its polluting influence.

All our actions are affected by our religious experience, and if this experience is founded on God and we understand the mysteries of godliness, if we are daily receiving of the power of the world to come, and hold communion with God, and have the fellowship of the Spirit, if we are each day holding with a firmer grasp the higher life, and drawing closer and still closer to the bleeding side of the Redeemer, we shall have inwrought in us principles that are holy and elevating. Then it will be as natural for us to seek purity and holiness and separation from the world, as it is for the angels of glory to execute the mission of love assigned them in saving mortals from the corrupting influence of the world. Every one who enters the pearly gates of the city of God will be a doer of the Word. He will be a partaker of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. It is our privilege to realize the fulness there is in Christ, and be blessed by the provision made through Him. Ample provision has been made that we should be raised from the lowlands of earth, and have our affections fastened upon God and heavenly things.

Will this separation from the world in obedience to the divine command, unfit us for doing the work the Lord has left us? Will it hinder us from doing good to those around us? No; the firmer hold we have on heaven, the greater will be our power of usefulness in the world.

A Fresh Wind Is Blowing...πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

TODAY’S WORD:

After the believers were first filled with the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, thousands of people believed in Jesus and miracles were being done. The religious authorities were so alarmed that they arrested Peter and John and demanded they stop preaching in Jesus’ Name. But their threats were met with the prayers of the church, and those who were gathered were once again filled with the Spirit and power.

God knew there would be these times when what we’re up against is too much for us. So with every new challenge, with every new level, all along our way, God has fresh anointings. He has fresh strength, where you’ll feel a supernatural power to do what you couldn’t do before. He has fresh vision, when you’ll see things more clearly, have a new perspective. He has fresh favor, where you’ll overcome obstacles that seem too big. He didn’t bring you this far to leave you overwhelmed and stuck. You’re about to see a fresh wind of His Spirit, with fresh opportunities, fresh passion, fresh momentum, things that you couldn’t make happen.

The Lord, He is the One who goes before you… He will not fail you.” — Deuteronomy 31:8 "May the God of peace… equip you with everything good for doing His will.” — Hebrews 13:20–21

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father, thank You for this beautiful and blessed day. Father, thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness in my life. Thank You for refreshing and renewing my heart. Fill me with Your peace; fill me with Your strength. Help me to do good and stand firm until I see my harvest of blessing. Thank You that it is not by my might or power that I overcome challenges, but it is by the supernatural power of Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for the fresh wind of the Spirit that brings fresh anointings. I believe that You are breathing fresh vision and strength into me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

To Be Like Jesus...πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

All around us are afflicted souls. Here and there, everywhere, we may find them. Let us search out these suffering ones and speak a word in season to comfort their hearts. Let us ever be channels through which shall flow the refreshing waters of compassion.

Be coworkers with Him. While distrust and alienation are pervading the world, Christ’s disciples are to reveal the spirit that reigns in heaven. Speak as He would speak, act as He would act. Constantly reveal the sweetness of His character. Reveal that wealth of love which underlies all His teachings and all His dealings with humanity. The humblest workers, in cooperation with Christ, may touch chords whose vibrations shall ring to the ends of the earth and make melody throughout eternal ages.— To Be Like Jesus p. 93
