It's About What You Remember...πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

TODAY’S WORD:

The Scripture says we are to remember Job, how his faith endured through suffering, and how God’s compassion and mercy was displayed. Job honored God and was living a life of excellence when everything fell apart. He lost his children, his business, and his health. His wife told him to “just curse God and die,” and his friends told him all the loss was because he must have disobeyed God. He was nearly despondent, but just when it seemed like Job was going to settle there, he looked up to the heavens and said, “I know my Redeemer lives.” He was saying, “God, I don’t understand this, but I know You’re still on the throne. I trust You.” God not only brought Job through the difficulty, but he came out with twice the cattle and sheep, got his health and joy back, and lived to enjoy four generations of his children.

When you’re in a difficult time, remember Job. Disappointment and loss do not define your life. Be steadfast, be faithful, keep honoring God. You’re going to come out stronger, healthier, more fulfilled and blessed.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father, thank You for this beautiful and blessed day. Father, thank You for waking me up with breath in my lungs and purpose in my steps. As I step into this new day, steady my mind and quiet my heart. Let Your peace go before me and Your strength rise within me. Guide my choices, guard my spirit, and cover my family and friends with Your protection. When unexpected moments come, remind me that I'm not facing them alone You are here, leading, lifting, and loving me through it all. Thank You that You are on the throne, and You are with me in times of loss and difficulty. Thank You that I can remember Job and how You brought him through the trial of his faith better off than he was before the loss happened. I believe that Your mercy and compassion are with me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Humble Ambitions...πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

Howard Hughes was born in Humble, Texas, on December 24, 1905. But, as a young man, his ambitions were anything but humble. He wanted to be a top film producer, a top aviator, and the richest man alive—and he managed all three!

As an aviator, he set several speed records in planes that he helped design.  Hughes also became incredibly wealthy. At various points in his life, he owned a tool company, a motion picture studio, a medical research institute, gambling casinos, vast amounts of real estate and hotels in Las Vegas, several airlines, and an aircraft company.

Hughes was living life in the fast lane until 1946; while test flying a prototype, he crashed and nearly died. While recuperating, Howard Hughes became dependent on pain relievers. Over time, his behavior became increasingly more erratic. He became an eccentric recluse.

By 1966, at the age of 60, he was the world’s wealthiest man, but he lived in constant fear of contagious disease. Towards the end of his life, he was injecting codeine daily.

His hygiene rapidly declined: he rarely bathed or brushed his teeth and allowed his nails to grow grotesquely long. His once-strapping 6-foot-4-inch frame shrank to barely 90 pounds. While flying to a hospital in Houston in 1976, he died of kidney failure. The FBI insisted on taking fingerprints to confirm that this pitiful shell of a man was indeed the legendary Howard Hughes.

In Matthew, Jesus asks what a man really wins if he gains the entire world but loses his soul. Hughes’ life is a sad reminder that the only true way to live is to die to self and humbly follow Christ-AF

It Is Well...πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

TODAY’S WORD:

The Shunammite woman had every reason to be overwhelmed. Her only son had died, yet when she was asked how she was, she answered, “It is well.” She was not denying her pain; she was choosing to hold on to God in the middle of it.

Jennifer Rothschild knows something about trusting God when circumstances are anything but well. As a teenager, after doctors told her she was going blind, she returned home with her parents and went straight to their old upright piano. Unable to read the music, she played by ear for the first time—and the song that came from her heart was “It Is Well with My Soul.” Looking back, she said, “It does not have to be well with my circumstances for it to be well with my soul.”

That is the faith God desires to build in us. “It is well” does not mean everything around us is well. It means that, even when life hurts and we cannot understand what God is doing, we can still trust Him. Our circumstances may change, but Jesus does not. Because He is with us, we can say, “It is well with my soul.”

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father, thank You for this beautiful and blessed day. When my circumstances are painful and I do not understand what You are doing, help me to trust You. Give me peace that does not depend on what is happening around me. Strengthen my faith and remind me that Jesus is with me in every trial. Teach me to rest in Your love and say, even through my tears, “It is well with my soul.” In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

Stand Still...πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸ’žπŸ•Š

TODAY’S WORD:

Two million Israelites who had escaped slavery in Egypt were trapped by Pharaoh and his army at the Red Sea. When they began to panic and cry out to Moses for a battle plan, Moses’ reply was for them to stand still and watch God fight for them. In those moments, the angel of the Lord, who had been leading the Israelites, and the pillar of cloud moved to a position behind them, cutting them off from Pharaoh. After the Israelites passed through the sea on dry land, Pharaoh’s entire army tried to follow but drowned.

It’s easy to get frustrated with difficulties and try to straighten people out, to force a door to open, to defend yourself against what was said. But that’s when you have to hold your peace, remain at rest, and let God fight that battle. Sometimes the best strategy is to do nothing. Leave it alone. It can also be the hardest strategy, but you have to stand still to see the salvation of the Lord. If you’ll not take matters into your hands, you’ll see God do things that you could never do.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father, this Sabbath morning I lift my heart to You, grateful for Your endless love and faithfulness. Thank You for carrying me through the challenges of the week and for the hope You pour into each new day. Fill me with wisdom, courage, and a spirit that seeks Your will above all else. Let Your presence bring comfort to my heart, strength to my soul, and light to those around me. Watch over my family and loved ones, surrounding them with Your peace and protection. May today inspire me to live fully for Jesus and trust completely in Your perfect plan. Thank You that You have power over what I cannot control. When I face problems that seem overwhelming, help me learn to stand still, hold my peace, and remain at rest. I am believing that You will fight my battles and get me to where I’m supposed to be. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
